I've been collecting postcards on and off since I was a kid - exchanging them while trading zines, buying them everytime I'm on vacation, and getting them from family members who went overseas. In January 2007 I discovered Swap-Bot, and from then on I started collecting more actively! Since then I also started to swap on Postcrossing and the Postcrossing Forums.
The large building in the centre occupying the entire block is the world famous departmental store Harrods. Whilst the road and building have changed very little since these Edwardian days, the traffic has increased considerably.
After the fruit, vegetable, and flower market was moved to Nine Elms the area was tastefully converted into a leisure and speciality shopping area. The buildings have changed little since this 1905 view and the London Transport Museum building can be seen to the extreme right of the picture.
