KUALA LUMPUR
Originally a stretch of flat marshy land and rivers infested with crocodiles, this muddy estuary outpost was the arena of fierce, bloody battles over the mining rights since tin was discovered in 1864. Today it is the modern capital of Malaysia and a busy cirt of skyscrapers and shopping arcades, highways and flyovers for the 800,000 populace of mixed races. This city of Arabian Nights magnitude with its romantic, mysterious and daring can play on all the senses and stir the imagination of both local residents and visitors.
