The large building in the centre occupying the entire block is the world famous departmental store Harrods. Whilst the road and building have changed very little since these Edwardian days, the traffic has increased considerably.

After the fruit, vegetable, and flower market was moved to Nine Elms the area was tastefully converted into a leisure and speciality shopping area. The buildings have changed little since this 1905 view and the London Transport Museum building can be seen to the extreme right of the picture.
